Lydia Hamoudi speaks at the 21st edition of the Ateliers Omnidroit in Avignon
On October 16th, 2026, Lydia Hamoudi, partner at the firm, led a workshop on sick leave, workplace accidents and incapacity for work at the Avignon Omnidroit Workshops, organised by Lefebvre Dalloz Compétences at the Palais des Papes.
On October 15 and 16, nearly 600 lawyers from across France gathered for the 21st edition of the Avignon Omnidroit Workshops. This training event, which has become a benchmark for the profession, brings together a panel of high-calibre speakers each year: university lecturers, recognised specialists and leading practitioners in their fields.
Lydia Hamoudi represented the field of employment law with a workshop entitled ‘Sick leave, workplace accidents and incapacity: the keys to safe practice’.
Current developments in the field fuelled the discussions, particularly regarding:
- the reform of sick leave: the decrees of 12 June 2026 on the duration of sick leave and the new exemptions from return-to-work assessments, as well as the reforms recently announced by the Minister for Labour;
- recent case law on ‘psychological shock’, the termination of an employment contract during sick leave and discrimination on the grounds of health;
- the obligation to redeploy staff, particularly in cases of incapacity arising from work-related causes, which remains a significant source of litigation.
These topics lie at the heart of a solicitor’s day-to-day practice. The numerous practical questions raised by participants demonstrated just how sensitive these issues remain for both companies and their legal advisers.
Lydia Hamoudi heads the advisory and training division within the firm’s Employment Relations and Labour Law department. She assists companies with the management of absences, workplace accidents and incapacity procedures, providing both advisory and litigation support.
The firm would like to thank Lefebvre Dalloz Compétences for organising this event and for the trust placed in Lydia Hamoudi.
